How to use this password generator

  1. Set length (8–64) or tap a preset like 12, 16, or 24.
  2. Toggle lowercase, uppercase, numbers, and symbols.
  3. Keep “exclude ambiguous” on when you’ll type or share the password.
  4. Choose how many to generate, then Copy or Download .txt.

What makes a strong generated password

Strength mainly comes from length and an unpredictable random source. Mixing character sets widens the search space; guaranteeing at least one character from each enabled set avoids unlucky passwords that skip a type. Ambiguous-character filtering helps humans without replacing the need for length. Always store secrets in a password manager — this page only generates, it never remembers.

FAQ

Are these passwords secure enough for real accounts?

For typical logins and staging accounts, yes — when you use a long length and multiple character sets. This tool uses the browser’s cryptographically strong random source. Prefer a password manager for long-term storage.

Why exclude ambiguous characters?

Characters like 0, O, o, 1, l, and I are easy to confuse when reading or typing a password. Excluding them reduces mistakes without making passwords weak if length stays high.

What does Weak / OK / Strong mean?

It’s a quick hint based on length and how many character sets you enabled — not a full security audit. Longer passwords with more character variety score higher.

Do you store the passwords I generate?

No. Generation happens entirely on your device. DevDock does not upload or save your passwords.

Can I generate many passwords at once?

Yes. Set a bulk count, generate, then Copy or Download a .txt list — useful for staging accounts or throwaway test credentials.
