How to convert an image

  1. Drop a JPG, PNG, WebP, or GIF (or choose a file).
  2. Pick JPEG, PNG, or WebP as the output format.
  3. For JPEG/WebP, set quality. For JPEG from a transparent source, set the background fill color.
  4. Compare the preview, then Download.

Format conversion without an upload

People search “PNG to JPG” and “JPG to WebP” when a CMS, email client, or design handoff demands a specific type. This tool keeps pixel dimensions the same and encodes in your browser — useful when you do not want a third-party site holding the file.

Need to shrink or resize first? Use the Image Compressor. Making a site icon? Try the Favicon Generator. SVG markup instead of raster? Open the SVG converter.

FAQ

How is this different from the Image Compressor?

Converter focuses on format (PNG ↔ JPEG ↔ WebP) and keeps your original resolution. Compressor focuses on shrinking files with quality and max-dimension resize — format is optional there.

Is my image uploaded?

No. Conversion runs in your browser with the Canvas API. The file never leaves your device.

What happens to transparency when I convert to JPEG?

JPEG has no alpha channel. Transparent pixels are filled with the JPEG background color (white by default) so you do not get a black matte.

Which format should I pick?

JPEG for photos and email. PNG when you need sharp UI/screenshots or transparency. WebP when you want smaller files in modern browsers and apps.

Does quality affect PNG?

No. PNG is lossless. The quality slider applies to JPEG and WebP only.

Can I convert a GIF?

Yes as input — the first frame is drawn and exported as JPEG, PNG, or WebP. Animated GIF output is not supported.
